DIY Liquid Laundry Detergent

As the title says, I will be showing you today how I made my DIY Laundry Detergent. For those of you who do not know what DIY means, it simply is the acronym for Do It Yourself. You might think that well, duhh everybody knows what that means but truthfully I just found out what it meant this year! Anyways, with a quick email from Grandma Cole I had the ingredients and the instructions for doing my first ever Laundry Detergent. Let's Get Started!

The items that will be needing are:
Arm & hammer Super Washing Soda
20 Mule Team Borax
Fels-Naptha
Measuring Cup
Whisk
Grater
Pot
Funnel
2 gallon bucket

 Step 1:
Grate 3/4 cup of Fels-Naptha, which is about 1/3 of the bar

Step 2: Pour the soap and 3 pints of water into a pan on low until dissolved

 Step 3:
Once dissolved add 1/2 cup of borax and 1/2 cup of super washing soda.
Remove from heat and add 1 quart hot water to 2 gallon bucket. Add soap mixture from pan and mix well. Fill bucket with additional hot water until you have 2 gallons. Mix well. Set aside for 24 hours, or until mixture thickens.

Step 4: After sitting for 24 hours it should be jell-like on the top, whisk it or use an electric mixer and mix until thoroughly stirred.

Step 5:  Pour into container, shake before using and only use 1/2 cup per load

Comes out to equal .03 per load!
Have Fun (:
